The Asian Wedding
It’s the Wedding morning and the sun is just starting to rise over Cambridgeshire. In a quiet village, three cups of chai are steeping, palettes are being prepped, and the soft hum of a blow-dryer breaks the morning stillness. It’s go-time.
I’m beyond excited to be part of something truly special — a vibrant Asian wedding that perfectly blends tradition with modern style. Trust me, the looks that will be crafted are going to turn heads.
Prepping for Glam
Before I even pick up a brush, I’ve had detailed chats with the Grooms sisters and the Mother of The Groom. We’ve discussed everything — looks, inspiration, colours, and how to strike that perfect balance between timeless bridal beauty and a fresh, editorial twist. Think glowing skin, soft glam with a touch of boldness, and that classic elegance that always feels right.
Each look is unique: one’s going for full, bouncy curls with a modern winged liner and a radiant highlight. Another is rocking a half-up, half-down curled style with a hint of pink shimmer on the lids. And the Mother of The Groom? She’s going for the dream combo — a traditional deep red lip, paired with a dewy, radiant base that will last all day (and night).
The Magic Happens Early
Hair starts at 8 a.m. sharp. There’s music playing, laughter in the air, and that quiet excitement that only comes on the morning of something big. Each style is built with care — from longwear foundations to setting sprays to keep everything in place, no matter how much the heat or dancing may try to interfere.
For me, it’s not just about making someone look beautiful. It’s about making them feel like the most confident version of themselves. Whether I’m pinning in the last gajra or touching up a bold lip before the photographer arrives, those little moments matter.
Why I Love This Job
What I love most about this job is the variety. No two weddings are ever the same. Different cultures, colours, and personalities come together to create one unforgettable day. And when I see that final mirror moment — where the client smiles, takes a deep breath, and says, “I love it” — that’s when I know why I love what I do.
Here’s to this weekend, to love, beauty, and a celebration that promises unforgettable glam and endless joy.
